August Veils items are made to be worn on one of the most important days of your life. I take that to heart by creating heirloom quality custom bridal accessories, either from scratch or from family heirlooms needing to be brought back to life. Each item is crafted with the finest quality materials and created with care and love that you will feel on your big day. August Veils has seen everything from a 100 year old gown being turned into a veil, to using pieces of a 1980’s headpiece as hair pins to compliment a more boho style, to simply placing heirloom lace on a new veil. There are so many amazing ways to bring that connection into a current wedding day, and keep those loved ones close.

WHAT COUPLES ARE SAYING
Bethany listened to my concerns and showed me that I still could have a beautiful veil that would complete my bridal look but that also would not be an annoyance to me! I gave her free reign to make whatever she thought would best suit my gown and hair style, and she executed my veil beautifully. It wasn’t in my way, didn’t weigh my hair down, looked absolutely gorgeous in photos, and bonus – my mother-in-law got her wish to have me wear one! Win-win for everyone!

PRESSING + STEAMING SERVICES
Your wedding gown is a work of art, and it deserves to look its very best for the moments that matter most. We offer careful steaming and pressing services, using professional equipment tailored to the delicate fabrics and intricate details of your dress. Every layer is smoothed with intention, with close attention given to any smudges or marks that may need extra care.
Included with every gown:
- Full wrinkle removal from all layers
- Spot treatment for minor smudges or marks
- A bust form, train hanger, and a larger garment bag if needed
- Personal guidance on how to safely store and transport your gown to avoid re-wrinkling
Steaming services typically range from $125 to $350, with quotes available once you share a photo, designer name, or style. I am also happy to help with accessories, bridesmaid dresses, and mothers' gowns. For menswear, I recommend a trusted dry cleaner.
If you are traveling with your gown or wondering whether your dress would benefit from steaming, I welcome you to reach out. I am happy to offer guidance or a no-pressure consultation to ensure your gown is as perfect as you imagined.
CUSTOM KEEPSAKE SCRUNCHIES
Have extra fabric from alterations and want a keepsake for everyday life?
How about a custom scrunchie!
A small skinny scrunchie can be made from as little as 2” x 16”, for a bigger/fuller scrunchie it’s best to have up to 3.5” x 24”.
Not sure if you have the right type or amount of fabric, let’s talk about it! We can schedule a consultation at my studio or discuss over the phone and share pictures.
Most fabrics can be used for scrunchies, but sheer fabrics don’t usually work as well.
Custom scrunchies are $30 each, customizations may incur additional costs.
Don’t want a scrunchie but would like some sort of keepsake?
Let’s review your materials and what you might like made from it instead!

OUR STORY
As a kid joining my dad while he DJ’d weddings and receptions I looked forward to seeing the different gowns, decor, colors, and excitement. In middle school when other girls were buying “Seventeen” and “Cosmo Girl” I was buying “Brides” and drooling over the newest trends in bridal fashion and dreaming of maybe becoming a fashion designer.
I fell in love with bridal all over again while helping my sister shop for her wedding gown in 2010. I immediately applied for a job at a local bridal shop and started training right away! Through my time as a stylist I found that while I enjoyed the wedding gowns, it was the veils that really captivated me. It’s amazing how a simple veil can change a formal dress into a wedding gown. I was certainly one of the stylists that would get misty-eyed when a bride said yes to a dress, because I could see that emotional connection build and the vision of a new chapter in life become reality. Did I mention that I’m a very sentimental person?
Working as a bridal stylist allowed me to meet other bridal professionals, and in particular the owner and founder of August Veils. Not a stranger to working hard, when the opportunity to work for her came up I jumped in with both feet! I had been sewing all my life (taught by my mom, and making my own prom dresses) so learning how to apply the small embellishments and add delicate edging was an exciting challenge. She was instrumental in my education about heirloom restyling and how to treat the often delicate items. Andrea and I worked together for several years before her retirement in 2021 and I was thrilled to take on the business!
Although I had a very different career, bridal has always been my passion and I feel so grateful that I’m able to help brides put that finishing touch on their big day. It’s an honor, and one that I continue to feel with every project.
